A glorious new beginning in our family. We have been praying for our son Shawn, daily, for over ten years. He has been a tattoo artist for nearly thirty years and has experienced a legion of brokenness and darkness in his life. Last week, Shawn came home and wanted to talk about spiritual things. This has historically been very difficult for him. But the Lord Jesus has been moving in Shawn's heart since Tracy's courageous obedience in baptism last month (see the September post). Faithful obedience is the key to releasing the mighty power of God! Shawn told us how he had lashed out at Tracy saying, "I'm not going to be the only one in this house that is not a Jesus freak! I'm out of here!" He stormed out. But later that night, the Living God, the Lord Jesus came to Shawn and smote his conscience. Shawn told us, "In the middle of the night, I realized how ugly I treated Tracy. I felt awful. Who am I to judge her? She found something great for her life." Moments later, Shawn asked the question we had waited to hear for ten years. "What does God want me to do?" We shared about God's judgment on Shawn's many sins, and God gave Shawn a heart of repentance! We then shared the love of the cross. Shawn asked Jill. "Why would God do that for me? Jill shared because he was God's beloved child and God would do anything to not lose him to hell, even have His Son die to pay for Shawn's sins. Shawn's face melted and he shared, "I know. I know. I got it." Death destroyed by eternal life in Christ!
The Lord Jesus has opened a new door at Parker Place retirement community. Our first fellowship time was glorious, with ten residents eagerly enjoying the Lord. We are thankful for the burning hearts there who desire to follow Jesus and fish for men. There is great anticipation that salvation is near for many of these residents and their family members. Testimony is now nearing 50 venues. Nueva Cosecha! The Lord Jesus, Mighty Lord of the Harvest, has open doors to at least 5 new venues this month. Christ is pouring out His Spirit into the Hispanic community here. Several Hispanic pastors have been meeting with Dave for months. Using the newly translated Spanish lessons, they are beginning new T4T groups with their families, church members, and their lost friends in the community.
